The lively, cynical and compelling debut of Alejandro González Iñárritu (Birdman, The Revenant). Amores Perros begins with a major car crash, telling the story from there of the boys who cause the accident, the woman unfortunate enough to be hit, and a third person: an outsider who witnesses the crash.
Amores Perros is a film about hustlers trying to climb the ladder, about successful members of society bringing about their own downfall, and about a drifter who has lived long enough to regret a mistake from his past. Their dogs form the connecting link between the characters. They are the silent witnesses to the behaviour of their owners, none of whom seem built for happiness and who, when it comes to love and social relationships, mostly excel in infidelity and deceit.
